It concentrates its attention on non-surgical treatment of the lower limb biomechanical disorders, when the movement and function of the foot and ankle are outside the normal boundary strip.
Some problems include heel pain, congenital deformities, flat feet, sports injuries, gallindons, hammer fingers, diabetic ulcers, arthritis and tendinitis. It would include all treatments with orthoses and templates (plant support), therefore it is the orthopaedic part of the podiatry.
