Diploma in Optics and Optometry from the Faculty of Terrassa in 2001 (UPC). During his studies he collaborated with the Department of Vision Neurophysiology in studies “Bezold effect or reverse color contrast”, where he acquires interest in neurological and physiological eye processes.

In 2001 he worked as an optometrist at the Barraquer ophthalmological centre. Collaborator at the Institut Universitari Barraquer (2001 – 2010) where he acquires experience in clinical optometry, also carrying out optometric training for doctors residing in ophthalmology.

From 2010 he focused his professional activity as a clinical optometrist in several ophthalmological centers: Hospital Comarcal Sant Bernabé, ocular CMD, Rubí ophthalmology clinic, oculis ophthalmological Institute.

Joan Gómez is trained and specialized in the calculation of toric intraocular lenses and in the calculation of intraocular lenses in complex cases.
