Specialist in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, he graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Barcelona (UB), with training stays at the Lhk Hospital (Graz, Austria) and Kantonsspital (Basel, Switzerland). After completing, she completed a sub-specialisation training program in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (Clinical Fellowship) at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London (United Kingdom).

She took the doctoral courses and achieved research proficiency at the Vall d’Hebron Hospital (Barcelona). She later completed her doctoral thesis obtaining the degree of doctor in surgery from the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

Since October 2018 he has been working as a specialist doctor in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus at the Ophthalmological Institute of the Yellow Cross Medical Center. He also works as an adjunct doctor of the Department of Ophthalmology at the Hospital de Mataró.

Dr. Álvarez combines her clinical and surgical activity, with lectures and presentations in courses and congresses, and publications in scientific journals. He has obtained the award for the best communication/weight at a congress awarded by the Hospital de Nens Foundation in Barcelona on 3 occasions.

He is a member of the Catalan Society of Ophthalmology and the Spanish Society of Paediatric Strabiology and Ophthalmology.
